VW Golf GT + Golf Sport = VW GT Sport

So what do we have here… two Volkswagen Golf model trim levels: Golf Sport and Golf GT. Which one would you prefer? But before making your choice, read this out.

Volkswagen plans to replace the two model trims for the VW Golf I mentioned above. But don’t worry because it is only for the UK market. The VW Golf Sport and Golf GT will be merged into one package called the Golf GT Sport. Sounds obvious right? Now check out what this new “merged” model trim for the VW Golf has to offer for out fellow British car enthusiasts.

Standard features include:

– All-new darkened grille section is intersected by a set of horizontal fins
New GT Sport badge on the grille
– A pair of darkened headlights in the nose
– A set of fog lights mounted in the front air dams
– 17-inch multi-spoke ClassiXs alloy wheels fitted with 225/45 R 17 tyres
– Twin chrome exhausts with GT Sport badges on the rear
– Leather trimmed three spoke steering wheel
– Leather trimmed gearknob
– Leather trimmed handbrake
– Front sports seats
– Automatic light sensing headlights
– Rain sensing windscreen wipers
– Climatic air conditioning,
– CD stereo system with eight speakers and electric windows
– Six airbags
– Anti lock braking system (ABS)
– Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP)

Under the hood, Volkswagen offers two engine variants for the Golf GT Sport: the nnovative 1.4-litre TSI and the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine. Both engines can pump out 140 PS and 170 PS. The 1.4-litre TSI comes with both a supercharger and a turbocharger for enhanced power output. Both engines could be combined with either a six-speed manual or DSG transmission. The starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for the model with 1.4-litre TSI engine is at 17,422 British Pounds and 21,352 for the Golf GT Sport with 2.0-litre TDI engine.
